Thermo-Taurus is a disposable thermocouple for accurate temperature measurement of molten steel and high-temperature-resistant metals. Developed for industrial processes, it delivers reproducible measurement results within seconds. The disposable design prevents measurement deviations due to wear or residues.

Precise measurements up to 1,820 °C under extreme conditions

Temperature measurement is based on the thermoelectric effect. Thermo-Taurus is designed for measuring ranges from 1,200 to 1,700 °C and reaches maximum temperatures of up to 1,820 °C. Short response times of 4–6 seconds ensure fast process decisions.

Use of disposable thermocouple tips

Clear steps for precise results in melting processes
  1. Select the length of the protective paper sleeve to match the measuring range.
  2. Attach the thermocouple tip to the measuring lance.
  3. Set the measuring device to zero.
  4. Immerse the tip 300–400 mm deep into the molten steel. Do not
  5. touch the furnace wall.
  6. Measure for a maximum of 5 seconds.
  7. Remove the thermocouple immediately and replace it.
  8. Wait a few minutes before taking the next measurement.
